DepEd endorses NAA

The DepEd Division of Dumaguete City expressed its support to the Negros Athletic Association (NAA) through Division Memorandum No. 257, series of 2013, issued last July 22.

Dr. Ramil B. Uytico, OIC of the Office of the School Division Superintendent exhorted the division and district supervisors, heads of public elementary and secondary schools to encourage their coaches to “grab this rare opportunity to further expose our athletes in preparation for higher competition.”

Dr.Uytico responded to the invitation of FU VP-Finance and Administration for schools in our locality to join NAA and experience greater sports competition as well as to “pursue a campaign for the reformation of sports in order to promote its practice in consonance with the traditional values as embodied in the spirit of Olympism.”

At present, NAA roster of members are 12 schools and 9 clubs signing up for basketball, football, volleyball, badminton and sepak takraw. The local table tennis association had expressed its intention to join NAA.

While the Tanjay National High School is the only public school that had joined NAA, it is anticipated that other schools will join the league such as the Negros Oriental High School, designated as the lone experimental sports school in Region 7.

NAA games are televised daily from 6:00pm to 7:00pm on Sky Cable and Tuesdays from 6:10pm to 7:10pm on Fil Products.

Maaari itong magpatuloy sa bawat taon at magbunga. Nagawa na natin ito noon at maaari pa rin nating gawin ito muli NORFA.
